Kylo is hurt, badly, while isolated with Hux. Reluctantly, Hux realizes 1) he's going to have to rely on his entirely theoretical survival training and 2) he's gonna have to keep Ren alive. Somehow.

+++ Hux is physically nothing to write home about and he ends up having to drag Ren rather than carry him
+ wound treating
+ Kylo is zonked out most of the time. Especially when he would be useful. (+at least he's more tolerable this way)
+ panicky resusitation/cpr + Ren's indignant reaction when he revives
+ Hux being actually pretty proud of the little shelter he built. Take that, Academy instructors and your wilderness survival demerit
+ Ren's a surprisingly effective space heater
+ late at night hearing things moving outside
+ not used to it being so dark
+ using the lightsaber as a flashlight/to chop wood/bug zapper
+ nature is the worst

Ahhh I love this, especially the part about proving his Academy instructors wrong with a kickass shelter. You just know he's never been able to let that demerit go. At the time Young Overachiever Hux was probably horrified, like, what do you mean he can't write an extra credit essay to bump up his grade?? *tries to shove a flawless survival diorama through his instructor's mail slot*
