When Kylo finds himself in in resistance custody (captured/redeemed up 2 u) he finds the majority of people want nothing to do with him, which is perfectly fine, he wants nothing to do with them either. Only it seems one little droid is determined to spend time with an unwilling and impatient Kylo much to Rey and Finn's confusion.

Poe and Leia on the other hand however can only be exasperated and sad.

+ Poe helped work on BB-8 (how he knew BB was one of a kind)
+ BB doesn't connect the masked monster to the now maskless Kylo/Ben
++ Ben only took up the project after discovering his gandfather knew how to build droids
+++ If going for past Ben/Poe, people used to jokingly refer to BB-8 as their child
+++++Kylo reluctantly begins to care about her again

Ah man. He didn't want BB-8 destroyed... so it kinda fits.
