Snoke isn't kind to Kylo during training sessions (I.e. he's extremely physically, psychologically, and possibly sexually abusive). Kylo doesn't see it as abuse, but it still fucks him up so when he returns to the Finalizer he's even more nuts than usual.

Finn, who's still a trooper at this point, finds what he assumes is another trooper (as Kylo has taken off his mask and is in his workout outfit) curled up angsting and crying in a corner after laying waste to the training room. He notices all the bruising/choke marks/whip scars/etc on him and decides to talk to him on the assumption he's a fellow trooper in an abusive relationship (because those mind of injuries generally don't occur in battle). Kylo is defensive at first, but ends up appreciating it.

this hurts my soul, so... seconding
