They didn't know the story.

They say that the emperor is ruthless. He doesn't love anything beside standing above everyone. Sure the empire is fair, their people flourish. There is no reason to fear, nothing to rebel.

Still,they fear him.

The story of how he fought tooth and nail. How he's able to manipulate anyone hangs over their heads. The emperor may be easy on the eyes, fair to look at and his deceptive calm wins favour and popularity. But those inside the castle are afraid.

"They're the remnants of the broken Republic, beloved. Of course they talk of things they don't understand."

His father assured to them when their whispers got way too loud. He was caressing the man's hair.

It's late, Jaymin is usually asleep during this time. But his father allowed him to stay, crawl next to their huddled figure. He only needs to ask, and his father almost always relents. It doesn't help that the man almost automatically stretched his hands towards him, inviting him.

"What do I call you?" He asks, curious, his father almost always calls him beloved. At first, he had thought that was the man's name and he had called him that as well. His father always had an amused grin whenever the word rolls out his tongue.

"I don't mind." He answers, Jaymin pouts, knowing what happened.

"It's not fair! I love you so much and I don't even know your name." He glances at his father, he regards him, he doesn't interfere though. Sometimes, it's hard to understand people's fear towards his father. Not when all he knows of him is support and guidance.

The man looks at his father as well, his father places a kiss on the man's forehead. "He is whoever you want him to be."
A large hand holds his chin, gentle but firm, urging him to look. Jaymin looks at him he hates the scar across his face, why would anyone hurt him? And suddenly, he understands why father keeps him away from everyone.

"Jaymin." His voice is deep, and the way he says his name is comforting. "It's no longer important, those things, those ties. All you should know is I belong to Hux, to you. I am whoever you want me to be."

He nods, thinking. He had always felt like home. And that's what Jaymin wants him to be.

Behind the walls, hidden from everyone to see, a room filled with complicated medical equipment.

Anons. I'm so glad you like this. Thanks for taking the time to comment. It makes me so happy. I'm still on mobile though. I've been waiting for the bus to my parents and I came back to this and it made my heart full. So i wrote this on my phone again.

I still have more of this. I'm slowly falling for Jaymin and trying to figure out how to write what happened to Kylo.

I hope it's clear that Jaymin is an unreliable narrator, because he's young and like the people he resents, he doesn't known the whole story either.

OP here. Fill Anon you are a trooper, filling from mobile, and such a intriguing story too! Just like Jaymin, I too wonder what exactly happened before the little family got to where they are.
