some ideas:

Warboy Finn getting stranded in the wastes and a blackthumb scavenger named Rey coming upon him, saving him from the searing sun? Reluctant road warrior Rey, who just wants to find her family?

Is Poe a wanderer with a three legged mutt, a fast car, and nose from trouble, searching for a green place? A new home for the Resistance?

Imperator Kylo, who ran from his home young to join Immortan Snoke? Hunting for rumors of a wise desert man, a ghost from another life?

Imperator Phasma (shiny and chrome), Imperator Hux? Or are they subordinate rulers, respectively, of the Bullet Farm and Guzzoline Town?

The clashes of the Republic -- weakened and shambling and complacent -- and the rising First Order, the Resistance an offshoot caught between them? D'qar, a small oasis in a sea of bleak salt flats? The Death Gang is one of a number of wandering wartribes, picking off any scavengers or stragglers they find, chasing Han relentlessly? Rathtars roaming the long empty stretches of desert, always hungry? Are there Force sensitives, legends of magic people living out in the sands, and are they highly prized? Feared and loathed? Coma-Doof warrior Mitaka and his flaming ukulele?

Please no reylo. Any permutations of kyluxma or jedistormpilot are my faves so those would be a+++

This is the fourth MM;FR/SW;TFA mashup promptive seen on this meme (I was responsible for one of the other three) and gee whiz I pray to one day see something like this filled.

I've recently (finally) seen Mad Max and literally the first thing I thought about afterwards was an AU like this, with Imperator!Hux and that oil/grease black 'mask' Furiosa had, and...and......damn *setting up camp*

Seconded, in particular the bit about the flaming ukulele.
