The First Order is defeated! General Hux is captured and sentenced to life in solitary confinement.

A few years later, a new enemy rises up and General Hux is needed to help win. Ben Solo-Organa (reformed or never evil) is sent to get Hux to agree to help them.

Ben thinks it's going to be a hard sell, but Hux is so bored he agrees to help with minimal fuss/negotiating. It's not that Hux is reformed or that he really cares; he's just in it for the mental challenge... and probably a chance to escape.

Preferred Hux/Ben, but it can be gen or pre-slash.

I like the idea that to beat the enemy they need a fresh, ruthless perspective on possible solutions -- solutions that the good guys wouldn't ever consider because of their adorable ethics.

LMAO my mind immediately fell in a CRACK GUTTER where the New Enemy is a gang of rogue planets, dumped into a heavily populated system via inter-dimensional nonsense. They're shielded by PLOT DEVICE so no one can land on them, and the inter-dimensional nonsense isn't answering its calls. And it's not like the planets are actively evil or anything but them just being there messes with the orbits of Republic planets, bumps moons into deep space; they hog sunlight and throw whole worlds into chaotic winter, causing a massive humanitarian crisis; they're just giant unwelcome guests, basically. BUT HOW DO YOU FIGHT SOMETHING LIKE THAT? HOW DO YOU EVICT PLANETS FROM A STAR SYSTEM?? HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE THEY NEVER COME BACK???

Hux: *puts on shades* Get me a sun.
