The Resistance (or unaffiliated pirates) knows that a General Hux commands the Finalizer and was responsible for Starkiller. But their intel is a bit shit, so they assume Hux Sr is the man in charge. Captured Hux-the-younger uses this to his advantage.

That's probably why they address Hux only by his rank and last name. You know, for stuff like this...
