Finn is force senesitive and manages to get a hold of Anakin's ghost. Finn has no idea what to say to him and Anakin causually says "I heard you hate Jakku...is it because of the Sand..."

Cue an hour long conversation over how much sand sucks.

Kylo didn't meet Snoke first.
/Luke/ met Snoke first. Snoke came to him at the end of the war and pretended to be a jedi à la Yoda in exile, escaped from the Empire and nearly killed by the Emperor himself (hence the scars). He asks if he can help Luke so they can rebuild the jedi order together by creating a strong academy. He recruits force-sensitive students, trains them, gives advice to Luke...
And then corrupts Kylo and half the students (the knights of Ren), kills everyone who will not join the dark side, and leaves Luke broken.

But they were with Kylo when he f'ed Luke's school right? So it was a religious cleansing? An act of following the leader? Kylo was a teen at the time though?

Do they worship the dark side or something?

okay so there have been a ton of adorable fics about poe looking up to leia/han/a variety of others, and i was just hoping that i could get one where he looks up to hera syndulla,

ANON BLESS YOU I HAVE WANTED THIS SINCE I HEARD THE WORDS 'BEST PILOT IN THE RESISTANCE'

After Rey thrashes Kylo for the umpteenth time, the Knights collectively decide to switch allegiances and ditch Kylo. They follow the strongest, after all, and Rey is incredibly gifted. The Knights of Ren become the Knights of Rey, and model their new ~aesthetic after her.

- Rey being wary and a bit uncomfortable at the submissive gestures

- They keep following her around the galaxy, showing up to rescue Poe or pluck BB-8 out of a quagmire or helping Maz rebuild her sweet bar. One collects Rey's things from Jakku. Watering Rey's small garden on the Falcon. Tearing apart FO bases. They're helpful. Weird and intimidating, but helpful.

- Knights expecting her to lose her shit at the drop of a hat and being amazed that she is ~so calm~

- Knights not being particularly tied to the dark side - they just fall in with how their leader interprets the Force - but struggling to learn to utilize the light side.

- Rey passing on her Luke training to the Knights and them sharing their combat experience/technique, sparring each other. Learning about both sides of the force.

- Rey and the Knights becoming something more like Grey Jedi rather than sticking to the old dichotomy.

- Finn being drawn into their ranks. It is the Rey fanclub and Finn is club president.

- Rey not being particularly tactically gifted but Finn is EXCELLENT at it and he finds himself organizing the Knights' efforts effectively against the Order
