News like Finn travels fast. The Resistance starts getting messages for him from families that have children that were taken as Stormtroopers. Some know he's obviously not theirs (wrong age etc) and don't care, others are desperately hopeful he might be their lost son. Finn has dozens of families opening their arms to him.
Finn being Finn responds to every single one and meets as many as possible.
Gen or Finn/any. Finn/ALL OF THE HUGS.

This! and somehow, a grassroots community of families looking for their stolen children also has an effect on the FO. But mostly Finn, being kind and enthusiastic and just so happy to be welcomed.
