Ben & Chewie Gen: Ben would have been better off if Chewie had gotten primary custody.

From the discussion board “your weirdest head cannon”. I'd love to see it as either:

Fix-it: Chewbacca actually raises Ben and Ben doesn't fall into Snoke's grasp (fluff preferred)
or
Someone thinks about the road not traveled and how the above might have been a better course of action.

Some things you may or may not find relevant:
-if Kashyyyk is full of the Force and danger, it might do well to shield a young Ben from a searching mind.
-wookie sibling Lumpawaroo and wookie cousins.
-knowing from the land and his family what the Empire did and how much it hurt.
-Skywalker genes + wookie childhood + the Force = Ben prefers heights like a tiny vulture. Ridiculously good at climbing.
-tree houses
- other people that are hiding/retired to Kashyyyk, like, say, Ahsoka, (who might still feel a responsibility to Anakin's lineage when they're hunted by the Dark).
-Chewbacca still refers to Ben's father Han as "my sweet bald child"
-Han dropping in to visit frequently makes their relationship much less a matter of disappointed expectations. Leia religiously takes her two weeks of vacation per year to spend the entire time with her son, no exceptions.
