Give me Oscar who makes stupid jokes around people he's attracted to to deflect from the fact that he wants to bone them. Give me Domhnall who thinks Oscar is the Coolest Dude and says and does dumb shit to impress him.

Give me pining, "oh he's just joking that's the way he is" on both ends. They have a fucking blast together and both are secretly so nervous around each other.

No meddling, knowing co-stars who tell them to get their shit together pls, I hate that trope.

Miss your voice - call later? x says the text that wakes Oscar up, and he yawns and stretches. He's slept in late and feels decidedly snuggly, but bereft of a partner to hold. With that in mind, he fumbles out a reply before he can think about it too much.

Miss yours more, babe. x he types, then heaves himself out of bed for coffee, because sleepy and sentimental and texting Domhnall just isn't a good mix, especially after last week.

Oscar lounges against the counter, waiting for his drink to cool, and remembers the night when Domhnall stayed over at his hotel room in the UK after missing his flight home. He'd been - if he's honest, they'd both been - decidedly tipsy from the premiere, and slept in the same bed and -

ding

Impossible. Got a quiet day planned, wish you were here. x

- and he'd been handsy as usual. He cringes looking back on it. Laying his head on Domhnall's chest and hearing his heartbeat. Feeling so...comfortable. He's not sure if he imagined the fingers stroking at his hair as they nodded off in their clothes (and one shoe in his case), but he sure as hell hopes he didn't.

Oscar sighs and takes a gulp of his coffee, burning his tongue as he tries to think of an appropriate reply. He feels like a lovestruck teen girl, agonising over what to put. Maybe there's one of those flow chart things on the back of a magazine he can follow to get an answer. He remembers seeing Domhnall sprawled in the sheets back in London and gets a little stab of regret in his chest. He could have kissed him, maybe. If he'd plucked up enough courage.

He's pictured it a thousand times. He'd kiss him softly, maybe with his arms around his waist. As much skin contact as possible. Domhnall would cradle his jaw, stroke a thumb down his cheek, huff out a laugh when their noses butted together. Then kiss him back, syrupy slow. Slip his hand into the back pocket of Oscar's jeans and squeeze, perhaps. Then bite at his lip, then-

Christ, he can't keep thinking like that. It's disrespectful, so - nasty of him, because-

Supposing he's reading this all wrong. Supposing Domhnall is just too nice to tell him he's umcomfortable with how tactile Oscar is? Because he's so- lovely and kind. He'd probably just put up with it. It certainly paints all their moments in a different light if that's the truth.

The little stab of regret seems to have grown spines, and for a second, makes it hard for him to draw a breath.

There for what? ;) x he puts, intending to go back and delete, but his brain is on autopilot apparently, because he hits send before he can stop himself.

"FUCK!" he shouts, mortified, and quickly googles if he can unsend a text.

Predictably, because he has the worst luck in the world, you cannot.

He looks at his reflection in the kitchen window.

"You're an idiot." he says to himself.

His reflection is entirely unhelpful.

A/N: Okay I've no idea if this is what you wanted or not, but I am an absolute sucker for this kinda thing and am kinda tempted to do another part from Domhnall's POV. Hope you enjoyed anyhow :)
