They're not in a relationship, they're not even necessarily friends, but one day when Kylo's having a terrible nightmare he manages to project it across the ship to Hux. A nightmare of his first time, when he was forced to give his virginity to Snoke and/or the other knights of Ren.

Hux's first time was under similar circumstances, when he was cornered at the academy by a group of older boys, and he realises they may have more in common than he previously thought.

Hurt/comfort and tension ensue as Hux tries to tell Ren that it's alright, he understands and sympathizes, even as they awkwardly try to develop a working relationship.

+ no actual sex between them, but focused on the aftermath of trauma

+1 hello yes the Neutral Zone Bar needs to be a fandom Thing and this is the perfect way to incept it. I'm trying to picture how Hux imagines rebel civvies (it's a tie between late-90's vampire movie aesthetic and the clubbing clothes featured in Queer as Folk).

Due to whatever reason, Hux finds himself stuck with Kylo in very close quarters for several days. There's no privacy, no escaping, and Kylo is... well, Kylo.

+There is only one small bed, and not enough space elsewhere to sleep properly. (Which doesn't stop one of them from trying.)

Rigging the shuttle so that they're stranded on an ice planet overnight and had have to "huddle for warmth".

((I've been inspired by the comments from Domhnall Gleeson that Hux would be a vicious fighter and is paranoid and sleep deprived))

Kylo Ren is quietly convinced that Hux is little more than a figurehead and a strategist, and would be completely useless in a real fight.

That is, until one day there's an assassination attempt on Hux, and Kylo bursts into the room with several stormtroopers, ready to save the general, only to find Hux in little more than an undershirt and pants, no weapon in sight, and the assassins covered in their own blood in a puddle of death around him. Kylo realises that he's killed them all. With his bare hands.

And it really turns him on.

+ if Kylo brings this up with Phasma later, only for her to tell him "of course, Hux is absolutely deadly in combat, he got top marks in all of the physical classes in the academy, didn't you know that?"
++ when Kylo bursts in Hux is casually smoking a cigarette, waiting for Kylo to arrive.

Finn and Poe have Hux cornered, cut off from his troops in a weird old temple ruin. Kylo interrupts before they can take him prisoner, and it's looking grim WHEN SUDDENLY sexy deux ex machina happen and they're all really more interested in fucking than fighting.

+ Rey and Phasma are duking it out elsewhere and keeping their heads in the game unlike SOME PEOPLE
+ their comms are set to broadcast, so both the First Order and the Resistance get the whole show in technicolor

Anything goes. Meet-cute, rival-turn-lovers, love/hate at the first sight, anything. They both might be the most popular guys in their school/campus with many fans and it's only a matter of time before finally they meet each other and sparks fly.

This is great. Everybody needs the Deus Sex Machina once in a while to calm down all the tension.
