Shara and Luke were together but then they broke up and she married Kes and never really got around to telling Poe and neither did anyone else because it didn't seem that important.

+Rey's his half-sister
+they all only find out when Rey brings back Luke to the Resistance
+Poe still considers Kes Dameron his real dad because he was the one who raised him
