KYLO AS CALYPSO. (incoherent noises)

There was a prompt a while back (in Round 2?) that had an anon commenter suggesting Kylo as Puck or Ariel ~~or Tinkerbell~~ and I almost died. This actually killed me. I'm dead. My ghost still wants this, of course.

Between this and the Reylo Persephone post a few pages back and my girlfriend walking out of the movie going, "Did I just watch a Greek tragedy in space or what?" I'm tempted to try to slap together some epic poetry.

WHAT REYLO PERSEPHONE POST? That pairing is not normally among my interests, but I would read the hell outta that. Kylo as Hades. HADES. It's so beautiful. I could cry ghost tears. (Hades and other villainized-over-time mythological figures like Set are my absolute weakness.)

All of these scenarios are infinitely more appealing to me than Oedipus and Jocasta parallels, btw. ~~Oedipus didn't know who his birth parents were, you guys. Quit Freud-ing it up.~~

Also, your girlfriend sounds like a wonderful person. :D

That's so incorrect since Kylo fits Persephone more than Rey herself. She doesn't have a grieving mother who wants her back, he does etc.

That's a good point, but that's not to say that a Reylo mythfic would need to adhere strictly to the original myth. There are plenty of Greek myths about the underworld to play with, after all, and there's no reason not to combine them. Orpheus and Eurydice come to mind.

I haven't seen that prompt, but if the OP there asked for Kylo and Rey to play the major roles in the myth, I'd guess Kylo snatching Rey to the dark side would suffice. Anyone could fill in as Demeter: Finn, Luke, etc.

Is it bad that I can completely see Hux as Hades? Hades is a sullen bean counter. He's the most dutiful and sober-minded of the gods, made the choice to live in darkness studded with jewels...and if someone pisses him off, he doesn't immediately go out and strike them down. He just waits until they die and then makes them do stupid things for eternity.

There's also a Kylo = Hamlet prompt way back in round 1.
Hux = Fortinbras? Vader = Hamlet's dad's ghost?
