Finn/Poe- Kidfic
(Anonymous) 2016-02-07 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)I just want all the found-family feels. And also Poe's dad being a shit about his son's inability to see that he's in love.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-07 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)[FILL]: Finn/Poe- Kidfic (1/?)
(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:07 am (UTC)(link)When Luke and Rey sense a disturbance in the Force that feels like a mix of scared children and half-dead people, Finn only grabs his gun before not-so-calmly suggesting that they go take over that Stormtrooper transport. Rey and Poe follow. Luke sighs, knowing the trio well enough that this would not end well. They were going to leave for the Resistance in a few days, anyways, so one raid shouldn’t matter.
It starts out easily enough: the pilot is incompetent, the troopers weak-willed enough that just a little push of the force sends them to the floor, the ship simple enough for Poe to pilot alone. Then Luke discovers exactly why the disturbance felt like scared children. The girl in front of him is certainly scared, though not scared enough to drop her knife as she lunges at Luke.
As carefully as possible, Luke grabs her by the wrists. The knife skitters away. The girl is struggling, kicking at him and screaming in some language he has yet to learn. Finn rounds the corner, looking panicked.
“What happened?” Luke asks.
“You don’t know what she’s saying, do you?” Poe asks. Luke nods. “That. Can I talk to her? And maybe could you hold her in a position that’s moderately less threatening?” At Luke’s nod, Finn begins speaking in the same language as the girl, rapid and hushed. She calms down after that and starts to tremble. Just at that moment, Rey walks in, a toddler under each arm. Finn sits on the ground and Rey silently passes him the pair. The girl sits down beside them, tucking a little one under each arm and Rey and Luke leave.
“Are there more?” Luke hopes not.
“Probably.” Rey is nothing if not a realist. As it turns out, she’s right. Horribly right.
There are twelve of them in all, ranging in age from six months to about nine and from every vaguely humanoid species. The first girl, the oldest, is still glaring at them despite Finn’s best efforts. A pair of fraternal twins, three or so, are clutching each other like their lives depend on it. The baby is in Rey’s arms and completely oblivious to the entire thing. A five-year-old is rocking on his heels, in utter shock and with blood in his hair. The toddlers Rey had first found are fast asleep under the careful of one of the older kids who is wearing a miniature Stormtrooper uniform like his life depends on it. A seven-year-old has worked her way into a corner; a boy who could be her brother is shielding her from view except for those huge gray eyes and a flash of blood-coated pigtail. To round it all off, a kid that looks an awful lot like Finn in miniature has wrapped himself around Luke’s leg. Luke sighs.
“Let’s get back to base,” he grumbles. “And I thought only Leia had to deal with this kind of nonsense.”
“Non-sense?” Mini-Finn asks. Rey smiles.
“Nonsense is the complete chaos that comes with being a Skywalker.”
“Oh-kayy. What’s Sky-wal-ker?”
“My family, little one.”
“Oh-kayy.”

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)[FILL] Finn/Poe- Kidfic (2/2)
(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)“What exactly did you do?”
“We might have accidentally ended up with ten mini-stormtroopers.”
“How?”
“Uh, funny story…”
“Just come over with that boyfriend of yours and whoever else you’ve dragged into this. We’ll get it sorted out.”
“Dad, Finn is NOT by boyfriend!”
“Yet.”
“DAD!” That is how the issue was settled and the Dameron household ended up with several new members. The youngest three had ended up in foster homes with other Resistance members; they would be able to adapt easily. The older one decidedly wouldn’t, from Hana and Leon’s tendency to panic when out of sight of each other to John’s fear/reverence of tradition to the entirely messed up Annie/Lucas dynamic of unhealthy coping mechanisms to Finn’s attachment to Luke to Shara’s even more unhealthy coping mechanisms that generally involved attempting to stab people. For a turned-out-to-be-eleven-(nearly-twelve)-year-old stormtrooper-in-training, it wasn’t an idle threat.
Kes just laughs at the chaos. He laughs when Hana and Leon decide to spend an afternoon on the roof. He laughs when Finn follows Luke around like a lost puppy. He laughs at Annie and Lucas curled up in the force tree. He laughs when Shara twirls his old Pathfinder knife in her hand, it being an eerily good fit. He laughs as John runs around in old clothes and a stormtrooper helmet. He laughs and claps when Rey teaches John and Shara how to give his son and Finn the knowing look. Mostly, he laughs at the seven little kids and two big ones.
Rey and Finn are fascinated by every little thing. They laugh at climbing the force tree, which is nearly thirty feet tall now. They tumble down the hills together. They eat ice cream together. The enjoy the little things about Yavin-4 that makes is home.
When it turns out that Annie is Force-sensitive, Luke almost laughs. Almost. This whole situation is so unfunny it actually turns out rather amusing. Still, it makes him happier than he can say to know that his kids, all of them, have a home and a family. While that might make Poe and Finn’s marriage a tad awkward, the Dameron household is home nonetheless; honestly, Kes would have it no other way.
