AU - Kylo Ren is a woman pretending to be a man

I really want to see a fic like this, though I can't quite think of why f!Kylo would need to hide her gender. Maybe she feels people respect/fear her more when they think she's a guy? Maybe it's to hide her real identity as General Organa's daughter? Maybe it was Snoke's idea? I honestly don't know why, I just love this trope and I feel like Kylo is perfect for it, with the mask and all the layers to that outfit.

+Her real name is either Beru (for Luke's aunt) or Breha (for Leia's mom).
+She still unmasks for Rey, only Rey is in for a bigger surprise this time.
+If you want to make it shippy, I'm a fan of Rey/Kylo and Hux/Kylo, though other pairings are fine, and so is gen.

OP here, and yup, that's the kind of thing I had in mind. Angry, emo Sith Mulan.

MICROFILL

When Breha joins the order, she strips away everything she was methodically.

First she strips away her hair, hacking it off in great clumps until she can barely pull it back into a ponytail. Her mother had taught her how to braid and pin in neat, efficient movements, but Breha's hands slip past its shortness when she goes to pull it back after.

Second, she strips away the layers of her old uniform. Always too big around the waist and short at the ankles, she leaves it on the floor and doesn't give the pale cotton a second glance as she wraps her chest and sinks into her new attire, breath catching at the tightness in her chest.

Third, she strips away her voice- the mask obscures it so completely that even as she listens to the echoes of her own breathing from within it, she cannot distinguish her old voice from her new as she speaks. Her already deep voice crackles and hisses.

Fourth, she strips down her lightsaber for its parts and builds herself a new one, hands deft as she seperates each component and assess its use. The crystal, of course, has to go, but there might be pieces of use in there. She wishes for a moment that she had thought to take one or two from the slaughtered padawans, but shakes the thought off as pointless.

And finally-

"Kylo Ren," says Snoke, and he raises his head as he strips away the rest.

I guess I'm not the only one to have seen Victor, Victoria!

I really like the fic too! :)

OP here. I love this, it's so poignant. I think the section about the mask is my favorite. Thank you, anon!

I love it! And the hair detail is cool because it's the opposite of canon Kylo Ren with his long girly hair.
