how the hell do you know someone who's never heard of star wars before?

i taught middle school in the projects 2009-2012, when star wars was effectively dead, and those kids had at least HEARD of it. "isn't that that movie in space? with darth vader?"

i knew homeschooled kids who'd heard of star wars.
