i think it has to do with most ppl's abilities to recognize potentially unsafe situations when other ppl are involved (like the big ol age gap b/t poe and rey and all the stuff irl that can stem from big ol age gaps) but see similar situations involving ourselves differently.

maybe bc you know yourself and wouldn't feel taken advantage of if hypothetically oscar isaac did request for you to rip off your pants.
