I don't think that's necessarily true; I've been posting an ongoing fill and have been getting lots of good responses, and I know that I'm always careful to comment on anything I read and enjoyed, even if it's just a quick response. Sometimes kinkmemes go through periods of 'prompt prompt prompt!!!' and other times there's more focus on the fills; it doesn't mean there's no point in writing fills!
