Hux tries to kiss him again, but Ren's lips are pulled back in a rigor-mortis snarl, his expression pained, his entire body stiff with misery. He turns his head to one side as if he can't bear to look at Hux, and that's when Hux withdraws from him, allows Ren's arms to fall bonelessly from his shoulders.

“I'm sorry,” he says, because it's the only thing he can say. Ren covers his face with his arms, turns himself away from Hux, nests in Hux's sheets and blankets as if he's decided to abandon the experiment altogether and just go to sleep.

“I don't hate you, Ren. You...” Hux struggles to think of a single aspect of his life that's ever been made more pleasant by Ren's existence, but inspiration eludes him for a good many long and awkward seconds. “You have a beautiful body.” This is absolutely true. Ren's body is immaculately honed, a precise instrument, strong and sleek and purposeful. Hux could never dream of having Ren's unconscious grace of movement; his languid carelessness, all the slouching and sprawling that doesn't quite disguise what Hux almost thinks he should call Ren's innate elegance. Ren's redeeming qualities are few, but this one goes a long way.

“I don't want to fuck you if you're going to take it as a punishment.” Hux strokes Ren's shoulders, watches him stir and stretch, his broad naked back flexing slowly, shoulders rising and falling in an eloquent shrug. “Do you understand that? When two people have sex, it's meant to be about pleasure. Enjoying each other's bodies, having orgasms and that sort of thing.”

“I'm not a child.” Ren rolls his shoulders moodily and turns to face Hux again, his eyes dull and narrowed, his face flushed; not very attractively, at that, his skin has gone all blotchy and enraged like it's afflicted with some sort of rash. “I know you don't want that with me. This is a simple enough task.”

“Let me show you.” Now, somehow, Hux's heart is aching for Ren; poor despondent virgin, misled and repressed, self-loathing practically pouring off him in waves. Hux touches him coaxingly, hefts Ren's great thighs and wraps them around his waist again. He kisses Ren, and this time Ren's lips part for him, Ren's teeth bite experimentally at his tongue. Their mouths are still attached when Hux enters him again, and Ren's almost shy now, biting lightly at any part of Hux he can get between his teeth like he's making an offering or like it's some weird mating ritual, and Hux doesn't mind being chewed on when his cock is sunk deep in Ren like that, that warm flexible body rising up to meet him again and again as in spite of himself- in spite of both of them-- Ren discovers something like a rhythm.

“It feels good.”

“All right?”

“Your cock feels bigger than I thought it would.” Hux laughs, startled, and Ren's looking at him, his eyes wide and maybe somewhat awed, and being the focal point of that intense gaze is something that Hux never thought he could enjoy so much.

“Can I...” Ren trails off, eyes half-lidded, looking like he might fall asleep, and Hux is fucking him slowly, an infinitesimally delicate and gentle meeting and parting of their bodies; like machinery, he thinks, like this is really what the two of them were made for.

“What?”

“Can I touch your face?” Before Hux can answer, one of Ren's big warm palms is brushing over his cheek, Ren's fingers pressing and stroking lightly at the ridge of Hux's brow bone, at the outline of his eye socket underneath the skin.

“Are you sure you're all right?”

“Finish it,” Ren says. “Come in me.” Sort of a wooden attempt at dirty talk, but then, Ren's gone so wide-eyed and vague at this point that he doesn't even seem to know where he is anymore.

Hoooooly shit.

I'm the original prompter and basically I fell out of fandom a few months ago. On a whim, I decided to check the meme again to see if some of the fics I was following were updated.

And lo!! and!! Behold!!! Turns out my prompt is being filled and it's PERFECT and everything more than I possibly could've imagined! This was the Kylux I joined fandom for, the sniping and the awkward sex and Ren's general failboat-ness and you write them beautifully. I'm so in love with your writing and I'm so grateful for you filling my prompt! Dare I say it: you got me back into Kylux again!
