I'm sure it can wait til Monday, after your family stuff has calmed down. It's not urgent, we're just trying to be proactive and helpful by suggesting things. Nothing is an emergency in fanfiction, don't worry about us. You can take a look at the threads once you have some time to yourself and either do a poll or make an executive decision.

nayrt

1500 is coming up fast, that would be a good spot for a freeze. A week?

Some people were discussing having multiple freezes, with the first one being at 2500. So Monday would be about right for that. :) But several alternatives were suggested. You might want to take a look at the thread when you have time. I know you're super busy in RL at the moment.

Fair warning though: one of the things that gets discussed is getting you some extra mods. You're doing an amazing job and we really appreciate it! But this place is insanely busy, and we'd like you to be able to relax sometimes. So something else to keep in mind?

A lot of other memes usually do a freeze at around a 1500/2000 comment mark. So, probably on or by monday

Freezing prompts for a week feels reasonable. Starting from Monday would probably be good.

DA but I'm sure nobody will mind waiting until Monday, especially since we know you've been dealing with a family emergency.

In fairness to you, I'd say wait until Monday

prompt over 250 words

(Anonymous) 2016-01-17 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi, I posted a prompt that's over 250 words but I can't seem to keep it within 250 not without deleting the whole 'bonus points' part, is it okay that I add the bonus points in a comment below to keep the post under 250?

Sorry for inconvenience you and thank you :)

DA

The post stipulated freezes every thousand or so comments, so 1,500, 2,500, 3,500, 5,000. Thats one suggestion, but there are others on the discussion post - page three.

why is there a word-limit on prompts?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-18 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't want to attack anyone and it doesn't really concern me personally, as all of my prompts have been fairly short, but why is there a word limit on prompts?
Sure, it might be easier to read through a shorter one and many people feel like tl;dr so they will just skip the long ones, but the op surely knows that and if someone doesn't want to read the entire thing they can just scroll past it?
I'm asking this because I've never seen it on any kinkmeme i've frequented before and it seems to be attracting a lot of people playing police, trolls and a lot of wank, which is a pity and might lead to people not wanting to come back to the meme anymore.
Also the 'not more than 5 prompts per page' is good and all, but also very hard to proove if you don't want ip-tracking (noone does) and there have been anons who felt they were appointed to antagonize people just because their prompting style is similar to others.
What I want to say is: kudos to you for not letting this meme sink into disorganized chaos, you're clearly very active and invested in this, but too many rules will drive people off.
