When Ben Solo was a kid he wanted to be an engineer. Nothing prestigious or daring, as befits his family legacy. Just a tech. Just working with machines and computers and fixing them. Once it was discovered that he was Force sensitive, Ben's humble life goal didn't matter anymore and he was shipped off to train with Luke.

Now, whatever ship Kylo Ren is on, he sneaks off as Matt the radar technician to spend some calming downtime doing what he really enjoys: fixing tech.

Hux finds out.

Maybe before he got a flashy red arm, now the library is the only place he can get work cause they ain't hiring down at the Etiquette factory.

With all the emphasis on how the Force guides fate and the light side and the dark side push people around on the board at its will, I like the idea that Finn is impervious to all of that. Like, he's the anomaly in the universe that will shape it because he's impervious to the force. (I mean, Kylo could have fucked with his mind when they were fighting in the woods otherwise, right?)

If everyone else is moved by the force, I feel like Finn should be the ultimate expression of Free Will, or the embodiment of it (especially given how the First Order couldn't shape his mind even after a lifetime, and how Kylo couldn't force him to surrender when they fought).

Basically, let Finn be the grain of sand that irritates the universe into making a pearl. His existence changes everything because he's got his fate in his own two hands.

Poe is head over heels for Finn, but he doesn't think Finn is interested in guys. So being the nice guy he is, Poe tries to set up Finn with women he thinks would be compatible with Finn since he just wants his best bud to be happy.

Meanwhile, Finn is bewildered and hurt that Poe seems to be trying to get rid of him...

Kylo and Hux are together and have been for a while.

Leia sees Kylo and Hux kiss (Either she sees a vid one of her spies sent her or they kiss in public in front of everyone or something) but instead of feeling like she's lost her son to the Dark Side, it gives her hope that there is still Light in both of them, no matter how deeply buried. She always could read Kylo like a book and he doesn't make those doe eyes at just any one.
