Poe is the pride of the Resistance. attractive, charisma for days, born to fly. The world comes easy to him. Except it doesn't. Poe is only the golden boy cause he worked (too) hard at it. He grew up with rebel legends, knowing he's to follow. He ramps up his efforts when his mom dies. Especially if he's working for Leia freakin' Organa!
Being On for everyone 24/7 takes its toll & he has 'habits' that have kept him controlled since childhood. being careless when sharpening ship parts, locking himself in his fresher with the water on after dinner. depends on how badly he's messed up or how tense he is. If not for going into battle right after, he might've destroyed himself after Jakku.

When Finn wakes, trading stories on base about how awesome Poe is, it makes Poe tense. He likes Finn, so he needs to live up to Finn's image of him. It means a lot less 'control' time since they hang out. Then Rey returns & he feels inadequate. He spirals till Leia, his squad, Finn notice & it's a disaster cause the Resistance needs someone to look up to & he's failing them. I want Poe being cared for by his loved ones & being reassured he can be human. Finn can be friendship or coupley. Really want inclusion of Jess & Snap too.
