Ben's "seduction" to the dark side was very much about isolating him based on his relationship to his emotions. He's a masochist wrestling with budding sexual awakenings who discovers that subspace allows him to experience and even enjoy sensations or activities that in other circumstances would be too physically or psychologically damaging outside of subspace. Snoke and Hux and Phasma all have roles to play in keeping Ben in subspace so that he can function as Kylo-- subspace allows him to kill for the Order and remain malleable within the Order's command structure.
