[FILL] Re: Kylo Ren and Neko Atsume

“I shouldn’t be so surprised that your bad taste extends to this, Ren,” Hux sniffed. “And yet here I am.”

A brief tilt of Kylo’s head from the datapad was all Hux’s efforts to garner his attention away from the game drew in response. It wasn’t even a significant enough angle for him to be able to see Hux through his ridiculous helmet.

A tiny meow chimed from the screen. Kylo aligned the photo viewer with a tiny black cat onscreen. This was easily the calmest Hux had ever seen him, certainly the most patient, as he watched Kylo flip through several seemingly-identical pictures of the little cat in the same pose before deleting all but one.

“It doesn’t seem a very fitting game for you. Not very dark.” Also not one of Hux's best efforts at needling Kylo Ren.

“You know nothing of the Force,” Kylo finally replied, head still bowed. “Neko Atsume is far from the Light side.” A ball of red yarn was bought with the tap of a gloved finger before he (clearly begrudgingly) stowed the thing away in a fold of his robes.

If that wasn't proof enough the time-wasting app was trouble, it spread to some of the Finalizer's crew as well. The instances of quiet meows echoing around the bridge increased drastically within the next few days. And while he couldn't be sure, Hux was more than suspicious when Phasma suddenly found reasons to check her datapad more often while on shift.

Kylo breezed into a budget meeting thirty minutes after it started. Just like him since for once he purposely hadn't been invited, the better to discuss how the First Order was going to be able to pay for things while Ren's quest for Skywalker continued to be a massive drain on resources. Before Hux had even opened his mouth to bother attempting a snide remark, a tiny movement by Kylo's hip caught his eye.

A small charm of a black cat with two-toned eyes swung from where it was carelessly attached to the hilt of his lightsaber. The little dots of color and sheer strangeness of it threw it in sharp contrast against the rest of Kylo's rough outfit.

"Sir?" One of the petty officers drew Hux's attention back from the oddity. He quietly cursed Ren's fixation with that annoying game for getting the better of him. It didn’t matter in the long run of things. Hux just had to wait it out.

Mere hours later, an equipment panel was destroyed, apparently over Kylo's frustration from missing a rare cat.
