On a mission to a facility that trains children up to be stormtroopers, Finn and Poe run across a directory for the FO's breeding program, wherein they take sperm/eggs from promising first order troopers and breed them with one another to create even better soldiers. Finn, when he was promising, scored what the FO calls "the right to legacy" and he finds out he has a baby in the nursery section of the training camp. They manage to rescue the kids, and Finn decides he has to take care of his own.

Cue Finn and Poe raising a kid together before they've even managed to confess their feelings for each other. Finn was going to do it, but now that he has a kid, the kid has to come first, and it's not fair to Poe to spring that on him. Meanwhile, Poe is holding back on confessing because the kid has to come first, and Finn has enough on his plate than to deal with the emotional turmoil of his best friend being in love with him.
