With Rey off to train with Luke, Han she's need to bring in some fresh blood to help him and Chewie. Finn himself is a bit weary of all the fighting and wants to take some time away from anything wat related if he's honest with himself. So he decides to go along with Han and train as a pilot (his two best friends/crushes/lovers are pilots after all) and a smuggler.
++ Han and Leia practically adopt him. ++ Jealous Kylo Ren when he finds out (is he jealous because Han is replacing him or because he wants Finn xD?) ++ They still help the Resistance, Han and Leia grow close again.
