Hux's grandfather (on his mother's side) is a space mafia boss, who took him and his mother away when the Empire fell. Years later, Hux and Ben are rivals-turned-partners-turned-lovers having (mis)adventures in Wild Space, all the while avoiding the Resistance (and Ben's mother Leia), and the FO (and Hux's father Brendol)...

However, the ghosts of their pasts are pretty much determined to catch up to them (aka AU events in TFA for the better and/or the worse).
