Fast forward to TFA time were a raid on a FO base reveals that that is the place they stored Ben. They bring back the long lost son. It isn't the victory they thought it would be. Ben has no loyalty to them, for starters, and he's been raised to be a consort. So no fighting skills, no manual labor, he answers only to Hux and has no desire to affiliate with Republic scum. And no, he doesn't have any information, he's a consort, why would he bother with such things??
