From the beginning, Hux works three times as hard as his classmates, gets into the Royal Ballet School and maintains a tight work schedule to perfect every step of every dance. He is hired by an up and coming company called the First Order Ballet straight out of school and had been working his way up to lead with every performance. Until their director Snoke hires Kylo Ren.

Before being introduced at First Order Ballet as a soloist, no one has ever heard of Ren; he holds no degree from any recognized school, disregards long held ballet etiquette and mocks the rigidness of Hux's perfected technique. But he is very good. There is a lethal sensuality he brings to the stage when he performs that Hux has never been able to master through flawless precision.

As the favorite of the director, Ren can apparently do no wrong. He throws tantrums when he messes up his steps, shouts at the ensemble when he feels they are out of sync, and pouts when Hux tells him off. The two are cast in a pas de deux and are forced to endure each other's constant presence leading up to the premier of their new piece The Awakening. Eventually, they will get together.

Phasma supervises the ensemble, Rey is a brilliant young featured dancer with potential to become a soloist. Finn is an ernest new graduate stuck in the ensemble.
