[MINI-FILL] Crossover: MCU character appears

"Sir, an unknown ship has landed on the planet."

Hux frowns. "Resistance?"

"It's unidentifiable. Nothing we have a record of." Lieutenant Mitaka shakes his head, looking down at the datapad. "We've captured a prisoner, however. Lord Ren has proceeded with an interrogation."

Hux narrows his eyes, a familiar feeling of annoyance washing over him. "I expect it's not going well."

Mitaka shakes his head. "The prisoner hasn't said anything useful. Lord Ren is, ah, losing his composure."

"Very well," Hux says, "I'll handle this"

Hux turns sharply on his heel and makes his way down the corridor of the Finalizer. The Order has temporarily settled on a new planet to regroup. They've been exploring the terrain to see if it's suitable for a new base and as of now, it's been entirely deserted. The sudden appearance of a ship and passenger has Hux unsettled and suspicious.

Moreover, the fact that Ren is interrogating the prisoner with no positive outcome gives him a prickling of dread. Ren's last two interrogations ended with the prisoner escaping. Hux doesn't want a third occurrence.

When he reaches Ren's preferred interrogation room, he can already hear the telltale signs of Ren losing his temper. He sighs and keys in the override code to the door.

"Things not going well?" he asks. "Are your Force tricks not working?"

Ren glares at him, brandishing his lightsaber in Hux's direction. "This creature will not cooperate. He keeps muttering the same inane sentence."

Hux steps into the room and glances at the prisoner. It's a humanoid form, but not a species he recognizes. Maybe an inhabitant of a small Outer Rim planet. Hux's experience at the academy taught him to never underestimate an unknown subject, and he's about to suggest that perhaps they should regroup and come up with a better interrogation tactic when, predictably, everything spirals out of control.

"Tell me where the Resistance is," Ren says, bringing his lightsaber up to the prisoner's face. "Or I'll force you to tell me."

The prisoner lets out something resembling a snarl before it flexes its arms, snapping the restraints in half. "I AM GROOT," it yells, the volume of its voice almost deafening.

Vines snake out from the prisoner's body and start to wrap around his and Ren's feet and arms, and that's when Hux decides that after three failed interrogations, Ren is permanently forbidden from interrogating prisoners, even seemingly innocuous sentient tree prisoners.
