The Resistance are negotiating with a political figure from a powerful planet that they want to ally with after the Starkiller incident. One of Poe's superiors is leading discussions with this political figure and will do anything to appease them. Cue the politician spotting Poe on the base, pointing him out and basically saying "I want that." Poe's superior says "You've got a deal" and immediately calls Poe aside to explain that he's going to have to entertain this smarmy politician.

Poe isn't interested, but his superior threatens him/talk how much the resistance needs this alliance to stand a chance against the First Order. Poe caves, even though he's uncomfortable with it, and assumes that "entertaining" entails taking this guy for a drink and a walk around the hangar.

But it turns out the politician wants to fuck Poe and when Poe makes it clear he's not hft, his superior comes down on him like a ton of bricks. So Poe meets back with the politician, smiles through gritted teeth, and has sex with him "for the good of the Resistance."

He comes back afterwards, sore and disgusted with himself, and forces himself to laugh with Snap and Jess and Finn when they assume he just got laid.

Then the truth comes out, and EVERYONE is majorly pissed off/protective of Poe.
