There's a soft knock on his bedroom door.

"Ren?"

"Go away, Hux," comes the angry scream of a reply, sounding muffled by a pillow.

There's another knock and another voice.

"Should I take these cookies and old holovid movies back to my quarters, then?"

There's silence for a minute. The door cracks open to reveal Ren's eye peering out of complete darkness. He looks from Captain Phasma to General Hux and back again.

"When you say 'old,' what do you mean?"

"Classics. All from well before we were born."

She fans them out like cards to show him the titles. Ren visibly perks up a fraction, but he's still cautious.

"And the cookies?"

Hux holds up bags -- in both hands.

"There might be ice cream involved, as well."

Hux and Phasma weren't expecting the tackle of a hug that was so brief that if they had blinked it would have felt like Ren shouldering his way between them to get past.

Ren didn't turn back around to see if they followed him to his living room area, simply claiming his favorite seat and blanket with a tiny flop.
