seconded! I keep thinking of all the non-Jedi, non-Sith force traditions that have probably been underground/carefully kept from outsiders. If the Jedi were taking most of the force-sensitive kids they found, and many of the resulting Jedi weren't replacing themselves population-wise, than either the pool was shrinking, or there are more force-sensative and untrained/differently trained force sensitives than before, or both.
