Re: This Time Around Part 1 2/??
(Anonymous) 2016-01-02 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)Whoever was observing the match called it an unfinished draw, and both Knights were left to their own devices as the both bleed for their mistakes.
“Bad form.” One of the Knights of Ren said out loud next to Rey in the crowd. He shook his helmed head disapprovingly. Another one elbowed Rey in the side. Her horrified eyes didn’t dare look away from Kylo Ren to whoever was speaking to her.
“Don’t you worry none, girl. The lad’s been through worse, I can tell ya’ that much. This one time it was Officer Pier and Kylo-”
She bolted towards the little ring, hopped over other bodies sitting down to watch the show, and skittered on her knees as she dropped down next to Kylo’s still frame.
She saw his face completely scrunched up in pain, his heavy breathing was kicking up all the dust from his face and he groaned like a wounded animal caught in a trap. The pain was obviously too much to handle, and yet he wasn’t allowing himself to black out into unconsciousness. This was his own damn fault for being too quick with his attack and he was going to lie there and punish himself for it. Rey hated how the Knights all did this to themselves; all bared their injuries wordlessly and proudly. But Kylo Ren, the Sith apprentice, always had to go that extra mile to make himself hurt worse.
“It’s alright.” She said, softly, bending down to Kylo Ren’s ear. She placed a hand on the back of his shoulder blades and he winched even harder. His pearly white teeth suddenly gaining a fresh coat of red blood. Rey pushed a forever-stray hair behind her ear and swallowed frantically. She looked up and saw, like always, nobody moving to Kylo’s aid, not that she was expecting any and wondered what to do. The other knight looked like he was trying to turn himself over and grappled to get on his knees to stand, but the iron hot lightsaber just dug further into his flesh when he attempted to move.
Rey outstretched her hand and with just a flick of her fingers, switched the lightsaber off, and used the Force to bring it into her hand. It flew out of the Knight’s chest and covered in his blood, and snapped itself to the young girl’s grip. She heard him give out one last howl of sharp pain before she ignored the rest of the world and focused on the damaged man before her. She turned her attention to where he was hit and lifted the black robes to take a peek at the damage. She almost wished she hadn’t. The bone that poked out of the muscle was almost too much for her to handle and she dropped the heavy wool back down. This made the stiff body under her moan out painfully.
“Oh! Sorry, sorry. “ How stupid of her. If Kylo Ren was a Miilus 45Dcon Speeder, she could have pushed down the offending metal rod and pitched it close with a 3A screw and if she didn’t have one handy, an honest to goodness piece of tape would have held it in place long enough for her to drive back to somewhere she could get the proper tools. She didn’t know what to do now.
Kylo Ren’s leather gloved hands shook and clawed at the ground. He gathered clumps of earth and dirt and whimpered strongly, his jaw muscles jumping up and down as he battled to scream out and keep the pain within him.
To hell with it, Rey concluded, unable to watch Kylo Ren “ride it out” any longer. Nobody was going to help him out here and certainly nobody was going to help him when she got him to his room. She was going to do the only thing she knew how, and treat him like a piece of broken equipment and fix him herself.
She glided her fingers through his hair, the strands catching from her sweep and pulled away from his sweat-drenched forehead. She cooed at him, shushed him softly again and again and set her hands to work. Her arms went under his robes again, she could feel him trying to push her away with the Force, but in his weakened state she had the upper hand for once. She brushed him aside, like a misbehaving Inda-pup and almost recoiled when her thumb brushed against what was solid and wet, the tip of the bone sticking out of his back.
She drew in her breath and as quick as she could realign the bone into its proper place, shoved it back down, where it was supposed to be. Kylo Ren’s eyes rolled in his head, yelling in his head so strongly, Rey could feel it in the Force itself, inside her own head. She shot up to stand.
“Hey! Fedderal Ren! You! Come here.” Rey called out to the bodies of black armor, one she recognized from the brief moments she caught glimpses of them when names were being thrown out when she first graced the sparring arena, trailing behind Kylo Ren’s robes like a lost child. The Knight heard his name and surname called out from the girl and turned his head over his shoulder. Once he made eye contact with her, or so it seemed, the T shaped visor on his helmet made it hard to indicate if he was actually looking her way, but it didn’t matter. She willed the mind trick on him, even from so many yards away and ordered him to come over.
As casual as the wind blowing or the rising of the suns, he promptly hustled over to them. The other Knights jeering at the fact he was weak minded enough to be controlled by the equally weak little girl. One commentating that he actually wouldn’t mind being controlled like that, if only Rey was the one doing it. That earned him more laughs and pats on the back as others agreed.
“Help me carry him back. CAREfully.” She added on when he bent too quickly and almost hoisted half of Kylo’s upper body up like a sack of building bricks.
Re: This Time Around Part 1 3/3
(Anonymous) 2016-01-02 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)She helped lift from the other side, but it was all for show. She almost didn’t reach Kylo’s shoulder regardless that the other taller Knight already holding him up by himself. She would have been swimming in those heavy robes and over taken by the massive weight of Kylo’s strong body and thick armor.
“Let’s go.” She said.
They passed the others quickly, Kylo Ren clearly wanting to yell at her for shaming him like this, but he could yell at her properly once he was resting in his bed and she could get to some actual medical supplies to help him from bleeding to death and going into shock. Something he properly should have done by now if he was an average human being.
First Order soldiers in clean pressed uniforms watched from above decks and around corridors as two Knights of Ren, one that was leaving a marvelous trail of blood behind them as his robes dragged on the floor, and a little girl trying to keep up with their brisk and much longer-legged pace, rush down the hallways. Stormtroopers moved out of their way and didn’t see the need to lift an extra finger to help them out either. Rey really didn’t like those guys.
She waved her hand at a panel near a door, and it opened up to what could have been mistaken for anyone’s room, or at least anyone with a much lower rank, being solely consisted of one bed cot and no personal items expect for a severely damaged white helmet on a raised nook that nobody would look twice at. Nobody would have guessed it was the Sith Lord’s appetence’s or the First Knight of Ren’s personal living quarters.
“Ease him down on the cot. I’ll take care of the rest.” She couldn’t help but slip out a “thank you.” Fedderal Ren did as he was told, parroting back his order and when he stood, Rey released her hold on him. The Knights hated that there was this Jedi among their ranks, but they were in no position to argue or complain about it to Lord Snoke. She showed up one day, in a simple black tunic and pants, white bandages covering up her skinny arms, trailing behind Kylo Ren. When everyone asked who the little mouse was, he directed them that it wasn’t any of their business and they were to stay clear of her. He issued the same warning to her, to stay away from his Brotherhood unless he was in her presence. None of them realized she was a Jedi until she used the Force to move an object once or twice and mind tricked someone to get away from her.
Kylo Ren barked at them for staring at her too long and forgetting they were in the middle of training.
“Well if she ain’t a Jedi, and she’s no Sith appearance either, what is she?” One asked, curious about the girl but even more curious if she was on the same level of skill as Kylo. They never received an answer, just another order to steer clear of her. The girl must have looked just as confused as the rest of them. She just didn’t have the privacy of a shielded face cover.
Fedderal Ren shook his head clear of the fog and quickly realized he wasn’t outside on the training grounds any longer. Vastly annoyed than anything else, the other Knight crossed his arms over his chainmail chest.
“You owe me, girly.” She waved him off, literally, and Forced pushed him out the door, shutting it behind him.
“I’ll make sure to send him a thank you card.” She said to herself as she walked back to Kylo Ren, and squatted down to his level, her hand cupping his cheek. He breathed heavily and tired to open his eyes, only managing to peek out of only one. She left his side again, rummaged through hidden compartments in the walls and pulled out various boxes of supplies. Some had medicine, but they were unknown to her and she burrowed her eyebrows trying to read the names of them.
“Vartox.” Kylo Ren rasped out and pathetically pointed in Rey’s general direction. She looked up at him and back to the some bottles. She searched for the word he mumbled at her, and found the bottle of this Vartox he needed. She popped it open and found the bottle filled with tiny orange pills. She patted back his side and he snatched bottle out of her hands. Pills spilled on the ground and she went down on her knees to pick them into her hand. Kylo Ren tipped the little bottle back up to his mouth and swallowed at least a hand full of those little things. Rey didn’t know what they did, but she wasn’t going to question him. He seemed to be in full control even with the immense pain running through him.
He laid his head back down to the side and everything else seemed to follow suit. His arm dropped, the bottle jumping out of his relaxed grip, successfully spilling the rest of the pills. Rey huffed at that, and would attend to cleaning them up later. She lifted her arms onto the edge of his cot and pillowed her head comfortably on top of them. She watched as Kylo Ren glared at her, or rather tried to. His usual smolder lifted inch by inch, that deep caress of his eyebrows smoothed out and he just stared at her. He shut his eyes and drifted into his dreamless state of rest.
Rey watched him closely a little longer, watching his chest rise up and down in a calm motion. Then she looked back at the soaking wet robes and stood up. She reached under his shoulders, and undid the clasp that held most of the cloak there, and pulled it away. Nimble fingers went around his front and unclasped his wide belt and she was free to lift the remains black tunic away from his wound. Whatever those pills were weren’t just to knock him out. They seemed to have thickened his blood and it stopped it from spilling out of him. Good. Now all she had to do was clean up the rest of the sticky blood all over his back and try to sow up whatever she could.
By the time he wok up she would have fixed him good as new. Just like…just like what? Rey felt utterly confused as some thought was trying to form in her head that wouldn’t actually form. She shook her head. It didn’t matter, these moments were few and far in between she noticed, when she was trying to remember something that wasn’t actually there. She would ask Kylo Ren if she should be worried about them. He always had the right answers for her whenever she asked him about anything. He was so wise and knew much about anything she was ever even remotely curious about.
But that was the last thing she wanted to bother him with. She set out to gather clean water and some towels and get to work. She had a long afternoon in front of her. She would have to be ready to deal with a severely grumpy Knight, too, when Kylo Ren would wake up with a sore and still slightly broken back, still in pain. Rey would be here for him, just like she always had been. Hasn’t she?
