If you read the novelization, it explains briefly how Poe got out of Jakku and back to the resistance. And there is this exchange:

It more or less seems to imply that Poe had to fuck his way out of the planet.

I'd like to see the Poe coming to terms with it and explaining it to his lover/s, feeling ashamed and worried about the reaction he might get, even if he was out of options at the moment.
