The < and > characters are coding element flags. If you have a < with text immediately after it, DW tries to interpret it as an HTML flag, and when it doesn't recognize it, it gives an error dump. The best way to check for this is to preview your comments before hitting post, and the best way to avoid it is to add a space between any non-tag < or > and text elements. :)
